Author Armor

A Courage Rehearsal for Women Writing Brave Books

Your manuscript may be finished. That doesn't mean you're ready for people to read it.

If you're writing something personal, something that names what actually happened, something that puts you in the room next to the people you love, the fear underneath the delays is rarely about strangers. Authors often think they fear strangers reading their books. Frequently, they fear the people who already know them.

A publishing package prepares the book for the public. Author Armor prepares you to live with the book being public.

You might belong here if:

None of this means something is wrong with you. It means the book is asking you to be seen, and no one prepared you for that part.

What Author Armor helps with

Writing the story itself can bring up more than the words on the page. Old memories surface. Loyalty to the people in the story pulls against your right to tell it. Once the manuscript is done, a different fear takes over: the fear of actually being visible with it.

Author Armor works with you through all of it.

You do not need thicker skin to write a brave book. You need protection that does not require you to become hard.

How I know this work

I ghostwrote 65 books for other people's names. I could hold anyone's story with complete confidence, as long as it wasn't mine. My own two books sat unmarketed for years. Too vulnerable. Too visible. Too much risk of being seen and rejected as myself, rather than as someone else's ghost.

I understood everyone else's courage before I understood my own. That's what Author Armor is built from.

Right now

Author Armor is currently a private coaching offer, taken on individually while I document what the work reveals. A group format will follow. It sits alongside your editor, your publisher, or your marketing team rather than replacing any of them. This is not manuscript editing, and it is not therapy. It's the preparation that lets you stand beside your own book once it exists.
